De-biasing the system

Drawing on insights from behavioural science this process moves the dial on diversity by de-biasing organisational policies and systems.

Research has shown that in order to move the dial on both diversity and inclusion at work, organisations need to adopt a dual approach, covering awareness raising and system re-design. We work with our global clients to both mitigate bias and to promote best practice by re-designing organisational systems.

This work involves:

  • Reviewing job descriptions and person specifications for bias language and criteria
  • Reviewing the competencies of performance reviews and management processes
  • Reviewing leadership competencies – taking out these that promote traditional leadership qualities that limit organisational thinking and putting in those that lead to ‘good’ leadership – as defined by neuro-science and social psychology
